Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) is a web service that broadcasts traffic information for highways throughout Japan.
This service is compatible with PC, smartphone, and mobile devices (and feature phones) and provides total support for commuters by enabling searching for traffic congestion and restriction information before leaving home as well as looking up traffic information once on site. Major features include the following:
1. Check traffic information in real time
Use easy-to-read maps to check current traffic congestion and traffic restrictions in place.
2. Quickly check saved route ("MyRoute") information
Save frequently used routes in advance to immediately check traffic information for saved routes.
3. Get important road closure information and other notices by email
This service provides real-time email notifications of road closures and re-openings for your saved routes ("MyRoutes").
You can also configure regular emails that notify you of the status of congestion and traffic restrictions along saved routes at fixed times.
4. Broadcasts traffic congestion forecasts and roadwork status
Check traffic congestion forecasts and planned traffic restrictions due to roadwork.
5. Road surface information

How to register as a MyRoute Member via PC
1. Click the “MyRoute” tab on Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”), then click “Register a new MyRoute account (free)”. Input your email address, agree to the terms, and click “send”.
2. Complete your MyRoute Member registration via the temporary registration email sent to your registered email address.
*If you have already registered via the mobile site, you do not need to register again. If you have completed registration on the mobile site, you can log in using the email address with which you registered on the mobile site.
*If you have a Yahoo! JAPAN ID
Click the “MyRoute” tab on Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”), then click “Log in using a Yahoo! JAPAN ID”. Log in using your Yahoo! JAPAN user ID and password to register your account.

Q4. What is a MyRoute?
After completing your MyRoute Member registration, you can save frequently used routes in the Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) system as “MyRoutes”. This enables you to conveniently check traffic information along the route.
How to save a MyRoute
1. Click the “MyRoute” tab on Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) and log in. Within “Dora Tora”, use the appropriate link to move to the “Dora Pura E-NEXCO Drive Plaza” page.
2. Search for highway tolls and routes on the “Dora Pura E-NEXCO Drive Plaza” search site.

3. Click the “Save a MyRoute” button on the above search results page.
4. Complete the process.

Q5. What is MyRoute Mail?
After logging in to your MyRoute Member account, use MyRoute Mail to receive notices of road closures and other restriction information for your saved routes (“MyRoutes”).

How to configure MyRoute Mail
1. Click on the “MyRoute” tab on Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) and log in.
2. Click the “receive” and “cancel” links in MyRoute Mail settings from the MyRoute list.
3. After changing other settings however you like, click the “Save” button.
4. Traffic congestion and restriction notifications will be sent at the timings you specify.

・Scheduled emails
You will be sent notifications regarding the current status of traffic congestion and traffic restrictions on your saved routes (“MyRoutes”) at specified timings (choose up to three patterns).
・Realtime emails
If there is a road closure on one of your saved routes (“MyRoutes”), you will be notified in real time. You can also configure road re-opening notifications.

Q6. What is a road re-opening notification email?
Road re-opening notification emails can only be received via smartphone after logging in as a MyRoute Member.
Re-opening notifications can be configured to be sent when a specific route has been re-opened even if it is not saved as a MyRoute.
How to configure road re-opening notification emails
1. Click on the “MyRoute” tab on Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) and log in.
2. Search for traffic restriction information via the top-right real-time traffic search functions: “Search by area” or “Search by route”.
3. If you search results include a road closure, click the “Road re-opening email” button.
4. A notification email will be sent when the relevant road has been re-opened.
Q7. What is an emergency message?
After logging into your MyRoute Member account, emergency messages can be configured via “Message receipt settings” on the “MyRoute Member page”. This will enable you to receive messages regarding earthquakes and other disasters as well as associated traffic restrictions.
How to configure messages
1. Click on the “MyRoute” tab on Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) and log in.
2. Click “MyRoute settings”. (On smartphone, then click “Message settings”.)
3. Under “Message settings”, check “Emergency messages” and click the “Configure” button.
4. You will receive emergency messages from the administrator.
*Regardless of these settings, you will also be sent emergency messages about events that we judge to be especially important.
Q8. What is a notification message?
After logging into your MyRoute Member account, notification messages can be configured via “Message receipt settings” on the “MyRoute Member page”. This will enable you to receive notifications from NEXCO East Japan, system maintenance notifications, and other information via email.

Q1. What is traffic information?
The traffic information provided by Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) is generally updated every five minutes using data from the Japan Road Traffic Information Center (JARTIC). Due to this, the information provided may differ from actual traffic restrictions and road/traffic status in the following ways:
・Actual traffic restrictions and road / traffic status information require around every five to fifteen minutes until provided via Drive Traffic.
・Due to changing traffic conditions, the traffic restrictions and road/traffic status currently shown may not align with the current conditions on the road.
・Click here to check traffic information.
*The scope of data provided via Drive Traffic
This site provides road traffic information on highways managed by NEXCO East Japan, NEXCO Central Japan, or NEXCO West Japan (excluding the Shin-shonan Bypass, Abo-Toge Road, and Shiida Road) as well as the Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressway.
Traffic information is not provided on this site for the Shuto Expressway, the Hanshin Expressway, and other urban expressways and ordinary roads.

Q2. What are scheduled traffic restrictions for worksites?
Information on scheduled traffic restrictions for worksites is provided via Drive Traffic (“Dora Tora”) up to around one week in advance. This information pertains to major worksite-related traffic restrictions on highways and other roads managed by NEXCO East Japan.
This information pertains to scheduled plans, and there may be other, unscheduled emergency work performed to ensure driver safety or to restore roads after a disaster.
Scheduled work may be cancelled or schedules changed due to poor weather or other causes.
No information is released via this site regarding scheduled traffic restrictions for worksites on expressways not managed by NEXCO East Japan.

・Weekly schedules are sent out at around 6 PM each Friday for the following week, from Monday to Sunday.

Update frequency varies by camera but the on-site live images shown will be from five to twenty minutes ago.
Current weather conditions
This service provides real-time temperature, wind direction, wind speed, and road surface temperature information.
Weather forecasts
Weather forecasts are provided for the next twelve hours regarding weather, road surfaces (snow cover, freezing, etc.), snowfall, temperature, wind direction, and wind speed.

Q1. What are roadwork-related traffic restrictions?
Roadwork-related traffic restrictions are imposed in order to create a safe working space when conducting maintenance work and similar roadwork.
Road closure
The closure of an entire section of road to traffic.
One-side alternating traffic
On a road with one lane for each direction, the regulation of traffic to alternate directions in the lane on the opposite side of the road from a worksite.
Lane restriction
Restriction for roads with two lanes or more per direction in which either a cruising or passing lane is closed and driving is restricted to only a portion of lanes.
Shoulder restriction
The closure of the shoulder lane to conduct work on that shoulder.
Two-way traffic restriction
On a road with at least two lanes per direction, the closure of all lanes on one side to conduct bidirectional traffic in the lanes on the opposite side.
Q2. What is traffic congestion?
“Traffic congestion” on a highway refers to a state of traffic in which a line of vehicles proceeds at low speeds of 40 km/hr or less or stops-and-starts over a distance of at least 1 km for at least 15 minutes.
(For the Tokyo-Gaikan Expressway, congestion refers to a speed of 20 km/hr or less. For the Keiyo Road, it refers to a speed of 25 km/hr or less.)
